And Seen…Young Adult!

Posted on

Just like Charlize in this movie we did some shabby to chic.  This was voted as one of the Most Suprisingly Good Movies of 2011 (by us – see our best and worst lists).

Young Adult
Starring: Charlize Theron, Patton Oswalt and Patrick Wilson
Directed by: Jason Reitman

  1. Theron gives a terrific performance. She elevates the movie by demonstrating her versatility. She almost makes you feel sympathetic towards this blonde, beautiful and sharp-witted anti-heroine. Oswalt deserves consideration for supporting actor as well. Great review right here.

  2. Great review! I think I will see this movie. Big fan of Charlize. She’s pretty even
    when she’s not trying.
Way to rock the ponytail, Julie.

  3. The problem this movie had, in terms of finding an audience, is that people who wanted another “Bad Teacher” were disappointed – because, as you said, it’s not really a comedy – while people who don’t go to see movies like “Bad Teacher” avoided it altogether. But I liked it a lot – I was disappointed when Charlize Theron wasn’t nominated for an Oscar (Though again, wasn’t really expecting it, because only about a dozen of us SAW the movie).

    • So true, I almost didn’t see this movie because I thought it was going to be like Bad Teacher (one of the worst movies of 2011, in my opinion). Thankfully this movie is nothing like Bad Teacher, and even though it’s not a comedy I laughed more in Young Adult then I did during Bad Teacher.
